O’Connor welcomes Juana Castillo as Chief Nursing Executive

O’CONNOR HOSPITAL HAS NAMED JUANA CASTILLO AS CHIEF NURSING EXECUTIVE, EFFECTIVE AUGUST 6, 2018.

Juana brings over 18 years of nursing experience, including a clinical background of medical/surgical, orthopedics, and neurology, and extensive practice in leading staff through change towards excellent results. Most recently, Juana served as Chief Nursing Executive at Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz for eight years. She has also held leadership roles in Surgical Orthopedic Services and Medical Surgical Services at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose.

Juana received her Master’s in Nursing and Bachelor’s in Nursing from San Jose State University. She is also affiliated with Area Chapter of Nurse Leaders (ACNL), Association of Healthcare Executives, and American Organization of Nurse Executives.

“I was drawn to the history of O’Connor, the mission, and I feel we have so much more to contribute to the community,” says Juana. “I had also heard about the great nursing staff and the commitment to their patients and this hospital which really resonated with my personal values.”

In her role at O’Connor, Juana will provide leadership and direction in the development of nursing policy/procedures and objectives with emphasis on patient safety. As a member of the Executive Management Team, she will help refine O’Connor’s mission goals, strategic direction and operational plan.
