O’Connor Hospital Provides Mammograms for Community
For breast cancer awareness month and as part of the American College of Surgeons (ACOS) cancer program accreditation, O’Connor partnered with Life Saving Images (LSI) to bring free mammograms to the community.
On October 20, women were encouraged to receive a free mammography screening on a luxury coach parked onsite at the Verity Medical Foundation campus in San Jose. Screenings took a matter of minutes to complete and were completely private and confidential. Participants were able to walk up to the large bus and register onsite. O’Connor was able to provide free mammograms to many women in the community, who may not have had the means to do so otherwise.
Several local organizations, including the Indian Health Center, Every Woman Counts and the American Cancer Society, were also present to spread information about breast cancer awareness and available resources.
O’Connor was grateful to partner with so many to help support this important cause.
