our services

Our pediatric services consist of a collaborative effort with community pediatricians and hospital staff working together to attend to the physical and emotional needs of children and their families. Our pediatricians work closely with medical professionals involved in the child's care and provide inpatient care in general pediatrics, well newborn care, Neonatal Intensive Care as well as outpatient care in the pediatric urgent care clinic.

The O’Connor Inpatient Pediatric Unit is a 14-bed unit providing care to children hospitalized with acute conditions. Both community pediatricians and pediatric hospitalists provide care for hospitalized children. The team includes specialty pediatric and surgical consultants, pediatric nurses, pharmacists, therapists, social workers, dieticians, and case managers to provide family-centered care to all patients. The attending inpatient pediatrician assures appropriate follow up care with the child's primary care clinician.

O’Connor Hospital has state-of-the-art private birthing rooms for newborn deliveries.  Healthy newborns can bond with their mothers by "rooming-in" with mother immediately after birth until time of discharge. Lactation/breastfeeding support services are available during the hospital stay. Tours are available.

O’Connor Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a 10-bed Level III NICU that has start-of-the-art equipment and is accredited by California Children's Services program of the California Department of Health Services. Comprehensive, multidisciplinary, family-centered care is provided to premature and critically ill newborns by neonatologists.  Prior to delivery, neonatologists coordinate with obstetrician to counsel parents with high-risk pregnancy and delivery situations.

The Pediatric Urgent Care Clinic at O’Connor Hospital provides urgent medical care after your primary care physician’s office is closed, with no appointment needed. The clinic works to provide high quality, personalized pediatric care for infants, children, and adolescents (newborn through 18 years of age). We are privileged to work with community pediatricians and pediatric nurse practitioners who are experts in evaluating and treating children who present with childhood illnesses and injuries.
